- ➤ The 11th annual Courage on the Court wheelchair basketball tournament raised $140,000, which will fund no-cost programs for special needs children. KCCI employees competed locally (showing friendly rivalry) to support the fundraiser. KCCI
- ➤ Scoutmaster Paul O’Connell honors Sgt. Declan Coady in West Des Moines by recalling his lifelong commitment to service from joining Boy Scout Troop 242 to leading his Eagle Scout project that built Adirondack chairs for Iowa Youth Homeless Centers. The 20-year-old was killed over the weekend in Kuwait. KCCI
- ➤ The family of late Army Reserve Major Jeffrey O’Brien, killed March 1 in Kuwait during Operation Epic Fury, expresses shock and thanks for the community support. A memorial fund has been created through Valley Church to help honor his legacy & support his grieving family. KCCI
- ➤ The American Red Cross reported a 25% rise in Iowa volunteers as Gen Z leads local efforts. Emily Holley said volunteers support blood drives — essential for fire response and shelter setups, with additional help needed across the state. Radio Iowa
