- ➤ A group of Iowa Veterans is set to board an all-expenses-paid Honor Flight for a three-day tour of war monuments and memorials in Washington, D.C. today—sponsored by the Wake Foundation for Wounded Veterans, they will leave Des Moines by charter bus at 5:30 a.m. and arrive by 3 p.m. WHO13

- ➤ Waukee City Council approved a new three-year deal with AHeinz57 that will end cat care on April 1—dog services will continue and residents will be told to seek help from wildlife control operators. West Des Moines will see its cat contract end this summer and must find a new plan for stray cats soon. Des Moines Register
