EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dowling Catholic High School expansion plans — with building additions, parking changes and a new 17th Street access — got first reading approval from West Des Moines City Council on Mar. 23. Mayor Russ Trimble noted local concerns over traffic, saying the measure needs two more readings before final approval. KCCI
- ➤ The Des Moines Area Community College Board named Lori Suddick as its new president, and she will start on June 15. Suddick served as president of the College of Lake County since 2018 and is set to enhance DMACC's focus on building skilled workforce pipelines. KCCI
