- ➤ An Iowa law firm is suing Jeep’s parent company Stellantis over fire and explosion risks in the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and related models—vehicles that were recalled five times by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration from 2020 to 2024 because of a fire risk when parked, with the suit saying owners could not safely park or charge their cars while waiting for a fix. - ➤ Des Moines police are asking the public for help finding a man believed to have information on a deadly hit-and-run on Hull Avenue — the crash in late February killed 46-year-old Eric Andrews when he was hit by two vehicles. KCCI
- ➤ A Des Moines man, Scott Smith, was given a 30-year prison sentence after he fired shots at a Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy during a chase and four-hour standoff in September when he hid in a hotel office. KCCI
