  • On Saturday, Warren Buffett announced he is stepping down as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and named 62-year-old Canadian executive Greg Abel as his successor—Abel has led Berkshire Hathaway Energy since 2011 and coached kids' hockey and soccer in Des Moines. The board will vote on his appointment to officially take over at the end of 2025—Buffett and Berkshire officials praised Abel’s hard work and strategic thinking as key to preserving the company’s decentralized culture.  KCCI
