- ➤ Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds’ waiver to limit eligible foods purchased under SNAP was approved by USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins, restricting taxable items like candy, soda and certain granola bars. - ➤ Last year, PGA Tour Champions held the Principal Charity Classic at Wakonda Club in Des Moines where 78 players competed for a $2 million purse with $300,000 going to the winner—raising over $62 million for Iowa children’s charities. - ➤ Noah Pfantz, a 14-year-old golfer with two serious heart conditions, was honored as the youth champion at the 2024 Principal Charity Classic that raised a record $8.6 million for Iowa children's charities — including Blank Children's Hospital, MercyOne Children's Hospital, Variety — the Children's Charity of Iowa and United Way of Central Iowa.
