Good morning, West Des Moines.

The Des Moines Police Department said that motorcycle crashes decreased from 131 in 2023 to 106 in 2024 and fatalities dropped from six to five during Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month — urging drivers to check mirrors and obey speed limits as warmer weather brings more riders on the road.

Alpaca Acres reopened Saturday at Blank Park Zoo, giving local visitors the chance to feed and pet alpacas and enjoy the Giraffe Feeding Experience.
