- ➤ The Iowa Gold Star Military Museum is hosting its fifth Annual Vietnam Living History event today and tomorrow at Camp Dodge in Johnston, featuring reenactors in Vietnam-era uniforms, a 1961 UH-34 helicopter flight display on Saturday, scheduled howitzer firings, and an armed Boston Whaler—entry is free with ID. - ➤ Two days into a call for 50% less outdoor water use, Central Iowa Water Works reports usage of 67.9 million gallons on Wednesday & 66 million on Thursday, which is near the level that triggered the water alert due to high nitrate levels. Officials hope rain will lower demand. KCCI

- ➤ DART has launched its new website with interactive maps and schedules for bus routes set to begin on June 14, offering an easier way for riders to track service alerts and route detours (the site is now more mobile-friendly). KCCI
- ➤ Two welcome home ceremonies for Iowa National Guard soldiers returning from a Middle East deployment are scheduled for today. The Des Moines event at the 132nd Air Wing starts at 12:30 p.m. & the Council Bluffs ceremony at the Armory begins at 3:30 p.m. with public access restricted for security. KCCI
- ➤ Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority will launch its new Route 4 on Sunday, June 14 to connect Des Moines, West Des Moines, Windsor Heights, Clive and Urbandale — rising costs forced a 10% service cut that removed stops near Hoover High and Meredith Middle although nearby school routes remain available.
