During Ironman 70.3 on Sunday, Des Moines competitors completed a 1.2-mile swim at Gray’s Lake, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run in 8½ hours before finishing at Cowles Commons—first finisher Tyler Tanko said it was a career highlight.
The next event will take place on June 22 in Rockford.
