Iowa State Patrol is asking Iowans to vote for its cruiser in the 2026 American Association of State Troopers' Best-Looking Cruiser Contest, open until July 13 — if the cruiser wins, it will be featured in the association's 2027 calendar.

Emergency vehicles are parked at the former Joe's Crab Shack as the West Des Moines Fire Department conducts training exercises, breaching walls and cutting holes in the roof to simulate emergencies.

The drills will continue through Monday, July 13.
