Iowa’s largest non-profit animal shelter in Des Moines is seeking help as it cares for more than 1,400 animals including hamsters and horses and has been admitting about 52 new animals each day in July.

The shelter hopes to reach its $93,000 goal today during its annual Day of Giving as donations will be matched up to ten—times.
