  • Claire's revealed it will close several central Iowa stores as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, including locations at Merle Hay Mall, Jordan Creek Town Center, and North Grand Mall, while the Altoona site stays open. The company has not provided a shutdown date yet + customers are advised to check for updates.  KCCI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ukrainian refugees living in Iowa through United for Ukraine — over 2,000 in all — are worried about losing legal status next year when their work permits expire, adding financial stress as they work to build independent lives. Angela Boelens from IA Nice said many families face these challenges and hope state leaders will work with the federal government to find a lasting solution.  WHO13

  • Football Friday Primetime is back with the season opening game between the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars and the Southeast Polk Rams as WHO 13’s Keith Murphy and Justin Surrency preview the match with coaches and key players.
