- ➤ Des Moines police said a teen was taken into custody after crashing a stolen car when he ran a red light at 3 a.m. Tuesday and tried to evade officers, striking a power pole at Beaver and Forest avenues—cutting power for about 1,400 people—and the car was reported stolen from a home in Beaverdale.
