CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police say an overnight shooting at an apartment on Westown Parkway injured one person with a non-life threatening gunshot wound at around 3:14 a.m.—officials have spoken with those involved and are investigating the incident. KCCI
- ➤ Des Moines police said three teenagers were taken into custody after a 20-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint during an online clothing sale on East 50th Street shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday—one suspect remains at large after officers charged two taken in an Uber with interference with official acts. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Drivers in central Iowa experienced ramp closures on I-35/80 on September 4 as the northbound on ramp from University Avenue and the off ramp to Hickman Road were closed for construction—commuters used detours along I-35/80 and Douglas Avenue while the Iowa Department of Transportation reported no major delays. - ➤ The Hawkeye Huddle was held at Big Grove Brewery in Des Moines on Thursday to give fans a chance to gather before Saturday’s Cy-Hawk Showdown in Ames.
