CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Des Moines Children’s Museum will leave Valley West Mall for a new home at 1200 12th Street in West Des Moines in spring—this space will have 13,000 square feet on each level and more than seven acres of outdoor area, with a capital campaign already raising over $2.3 million to reach its $3.5 million goal. The nonprofit plans to expand its exhibits to offer a more engaging learning experience. WHO13
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Iowa Department of Agriculture will continue its program that sends state funds to six food banks so they can buy fresh food from local farmers—adding another $200,000—to help families facing food shortages.
