About this event

Discover how traditional Chinese gardens use pathways, water, rocks, plants, and carefully framed views to create beauty, balance, and a sense of peace. Through stunning images and stories, you’ll explore practical design ideas that can inspire your own outdoor spaces, whether you have a large garden or a small backyard. Along the way, we’ll also discover how these timeless garden principles influenced Chinese homes, seasonal living, and everyday wellbeing. No registration required. This program is presented by Phoebe Liang D’Alessandro. She is an expert in Chinese philosophy and culture with extensive experience in education and community programming. She served as a Chinese language and culture professor at Drake University from 2019 to 2022 and has been a Chinese Culture Ambassador with CultureALL since 2014.
