Holiday Promenade- Tree Lighting with Santa

About this event

For 25 years, Holiday Promenade has turned the East Village into Des Moines’ favorite winter tradition — twinkling lights, live entertainment, and five Friday evenings of free, family-friendly fun. This year, we’re going bigger than ever to celebrate the milestone.

This holiday season, join us for five Friday evenings that transform the East Village into a winter wonderland. Last year alone, more than 90,000 neighbors and visitors came out to celebrate with us — and this year, for our 25th anniversary, we’re marking the occasion with our biggest lineup yet.

Tree Lighting Ceremony with Santa Claus

25th Anniversary Opening Night

Kick off 25 years of Holiday Promenade the way it all began. Watch the East Village glow as our tree lights up for the season, then stick around to meet Santa Claus himself. It’s the night that starts it all. Join us at Brenton Skating Park for the official start of the season. After the tree lighting get your family’s phot with Santa Claus in front of the tree.
