Des Moines police are investigating a fatal crash after West Des Moines resident Margarita Santiago-Popovski, 38, crashed her vehicle on Wednesday night near School Street and was picked up and driven to a hospital early Thursday, where she died later, with officers recovering the abandoned car at 11:30 a.m.—this marks the sixth deadly crash in Des Moines this year.
