- ➤ Iowa’s largest non-profit animal shelter in Des Moines is seeking help as it cares for more than 1,400 animals including hamsters and horses and has been admitting about 52 new animals each day in July. The shelter hopes to reach its $93,000 goal today during its annual Day of Giving as donations will be matched up to ten—times. Radio Iowa

- ➤ Des Moines Water Works has introduced Flume, a device that attaches to water meters and syncs with a smartphone app to display real-time water usage every five seconds to help customers save on their bills. The tool costs $105 and is on sale for $85 through Sunday+ 300 households have signed up so far with a goal of reaching 600. KCCI

- ➤ A federal judge temporarily blocked parts of Iowa's new pharmacy benefit manager law for business groups that joined a lawsuit, ruling the law may violate constitutional rights.
